THE IMPERFECTIONISTA
Hi! I am Katie Thies aka The Imperfectionista. I run online and in-person creative experiential coaching workshops. I work with big-hearted, curious souls who want to learn, laugh and love. I push people to discover new things about themselves and how they relate to others using creative exercises, movement explorations, and play. I have developed unique experiential coaching workshops with a creative, out-of-the-box flair. I specialize in work with recovering perfectionists and codependents.
I believe imperfection is real, authentic, and shockingly beautiful

My Story
I have struggled. I have felt pain and experienced trauma and loss. I have felt scared and hopeless. I have lost touch with myself, and have forgotten how to have fun and experience joy.
And yet out of those struggles…I have grown, defined, and even re-defined myself. I understand that life is a work in progress. I have changed careers. I have moved across oceans. I have ended relationships. I have gotten help when it was hard. I have learned how to be vulnerable, and have also learned that I have to continually practice being vulnerable! I regularly experience joy and wonder. I am passionate about learning and travel to explore the world and my place in it. I live imperfectly, and I love it.
I also have a diverse back ground. Fun facts…
I love learning and am a geek at heart. I have trained with and worked alongside some amazing folks, including: Brené Brown, Marie Forleo, Margaret Moore, Bob Tschannan Moran, Brent Anderson, Dawn Marie Ikes.
This is where I find continual inspiration to keep learning and growing.
I have always had an entrepreneurial spirit. My first business was a neighborhood pet-sitting business that I started at age 11. Since then I have crafted and sold fashion flip-flops, had my own photography business, run a dance theatre company, had my own Pilates studio, and built a coaching practice. I have had a lot of business cards!
This is how I have learned how to run a business.
I worked in the world of international corporate law for nearly 7 years. I started in research and worked my way up to management.
This is where I fell in love with coaching and team development.
I have always had a passion for creating. Over the years I have tried my hand at many things including: painting, set design, quilting, welding, animation, performance art, glass blowing, costume design and construction, embroidery, singing, graphic design, sculpture, choreography, baking and playing the standing bass.
This is why I am always creating something.
